Sanya
热带海滨度假胜地浪漫天涯

Sanya is located at the southernmost tip of Hainan Island, at 18° north latitude, with a tropical marine monsoon climate. It is warm and humid year-round, with an average annual temperature of 25.7°C, a coastline stretching 209 kilometers, and numerous natural bays. With abundant sunshine and ample rainfall, it is known as the "Hawaii of the East" and is the only city in China that boasts both tropical rainforest and coastal scenery.

Sanya has a long history, having been incorporated into China's territory as early as the Qin Dynasty and becoming an important stopover on the Maritime Silk Road during the Tang Dynasty. Today, Sanya is renowned for its cultural symbol of "Tianya Haijiao" (the Ends of the Earth), representing romance and the faraway. Its unique tropical coastal scenery and the ethnic customs of the Li and Miao minorities form an irreplaceable urban charm.

Sanya has a diverse culture, blending the traditions of the Han, Li, and Miao ethnic groups. Its cuisine mainly features seafood and tropical fruits, with Wenchang chicken, Jiaji duck, Dongshan lamb, and Hele crab known as the "Four Famous Dishes of Hainan." Street snacks like Qingbuliang and Baoluo noodles are very popular. The locals lead a leisurely lifestyle, often strolling along the beach, sipping tea, and flying kites.

In recent years, Sanya has developed into an internationally renowned tropical coastal tourist city, boasting numerous five-star hotels and resorts. As China's only international tropical coastal tourist city, Sanya has successfully hosted international conferences such as the Boao Forum for Asia. In the future, Sanya will be dedicated to building a free trade port and establishing itself as a global tourism consumption center.
